I installed this printer on a laptop that did not have a CD-ROM drive and so i expected it to be allot harder to install but to my joy all i had to do was visit the hp web site and found the CD to download and it was quick and easy to do. the install went smoothly and with a little adjustment witch was a part of the set up it was printing photos and papers like a pro and extremely quick for color about 10 seconds WOW!!! LOL just remember something i forgot to do lol i put the print cartridges in and forgot to take the tab off the black one in my hurry to put this thing to use lol but it was easy to fix and i was off and running again!!!!
Great buy!!!!

I bought this printer to replace a 10-year old Brother MFC 210-c all-in-one printer
that had stopped working. I did some research and read about the attributes of the HP D1660. Most were pretty accurate, most important of which was the print quality.
It really is solid an fairly accurate considering the price of the D1660. The other thing it does well is it prints fast. Much faster than my old printer but then again
it was 10 years old. My only caveat is the paper loading. Many times I've loaded paper only to get a message that the printer is out of paper. Eventually I found out
that you have to make sure that the paper goes fully back and that it trips a plastic
thing-a-ma-jig at that back of the paper slot. As far as ink usage is concerned I really haven't had it long enough to make a proper assessment. I have however looked up ink prices an they seem fairly reasonable as far as that whole scam goes.
Eventually I'll end up getting a better printer. But for the price and the quality of its prints, I would definitely recommend it

I purchased this printer figuring that I didn't have a lot to risk for $30. I was pleasantly surprised. The print quality is excellent, setup was quick and painless, and it worked well with my Apple wireless network--something that is not all that common. It is fairly quiet, nice looking, and has a small footprint. Overall, this $30 printer delighted me more than most of the (much) more expensive models I've owned in the past. The only drawback that I can find is that it is fairly slow, printing ~3 pages per minute at decent print quality.

I bought it for my grandmother. Really cheap, it took me maybe 15 minutes to set up, and it worked.
It takes a while to print pictures, but that is to be expected. It runs fine with my grandmother's ancient computer.
The only thing I really don't like is the glossy surface (gets scratched easily and is hard to clean and keep clean). But that doesn't affect the functionality of the product.
And you have to buy the usb cable separate (which really irritates me on a principle level). A usb cable adds about $10 to $15 to the price, but that is standard with just about any printer (unfortunately).
Overall, it works and works well. It does the job it needs to do without complaining, and all for $40.

This HP product replaced the earlier Deskjet 3930 version. It is well worth the price. I spent no more than fifteen minutes setting it up, including the addition of the software onto my hard drive. The print quality is excellent and the item is not too noisy. Dollar for dollar it deserves a high recommendation. The previous HP printer lasted about four years. I expect that this new one will work wonderfully until minimally 2014. What more can one ask for?
